Here's where I am with the neck/headstock of the current instrument. The end profile on the H/S is a variation on my now-established theme (I'm not sure if it comes close to that of any other maker) but I think it works well and I'm going to stick with it. I use a drill, coping saw and chisel to cut the slots - a satisfying process but it demands time and care to get it right! I like the ebony veneer - it'll be interesting to see how it works aesthetically with the rest of the guitar. Now to choose a style/make of machine head - I've got a set of Gotoh tuners with ebony buttons which might look good.
